“ From the very first moment, everything was just perfect. The beautiful entrance with the canopy set the tone, followed by a warm welcome from the manager who promptly verified our reservation. We were then taken to our requested table with a lovely view — exactly what we hoped for. The service throughout the evening was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and full of flavor, and the overall ambiance made the whole experience even more enjoyable. After 8 PM, the music added a fantastic touch — vibrant, yet not overwhelming. To top it off, we picked up some souvenirs on our way out at very reasonable prices, which was a lovely bonus. This is definitely a place we highly recommend. While the prices might be a bit on the higher side, for us it was worth every dollar we spent. A truly memorable experience from start to finish. ”
“ Are at The Rock for lunch. Overall I was disappointed with the food quality. I had tempura seafood and lobster. The first was tasteless other than greasy batter and the lobster whilst a bit better, not great and also accompanied by greasy fried vegetables. I left a lot which I don’t like to do and is rare. That said, the mocktail I had was tasty and the coffee was good. The service was friendly and attentive. And they also removed the starter cost from the bill, without me asking. Other people were eating their meals, so maybe just not my taste or I was unlucky. For the price range I would expect excellent food on every dish. Views are lovely. There is a small bar/sitting area at the sea facing side, so I think you could go for just a drink. ”
“ Wow wow wow! An absolutely amazing experience. Wonderful staff, outstanding food and one of a kind scenery. If you are visiting Zanzibar you must come here! The grilled lobster was out of this world. The desserts and cocktails were sublime. ”

“ Food and setting are amazing, but the experience was let down by poor communication. We weren’t told in advance that, due to the tides, you need to wear certain clothing or risk getting soaked when boarding the boat. On our visit, the tides were rough, the wait for the boat was over an hour, and several guests in our group cancelled last minute because of this. Great food, but they should inform guests ahead about tide conditions, clothing recommendations, and possible delays. ”
“ We had a beautiful night with Diana as our wonderful server, we had the mixed tempura starter which was yummy, we had a variety of main dishes that all tasted lovely. We went at 6pm so we could get nice views of the restaurant and had enough light before the sun set. Thank you Diana for a lovely night ”
“ The other reviews are true - food isn’t great. Seafood is 100% frozen and you can tell. Skip the desert, also frozen. Views are amazing and the service is nice. I recommend ordering wine, as the cocktails are weak. Get there early to secure a seat outside. Be sure to check the tide before arriving. Low tide you can walk, high tide you need to take a boat. The boat ride is unique, but not smooth at all. ”
